2025 Service to Community Project
Camp Because I Said I Would-Walhonding, Ohio
Camp Because I Said I Would spreads across 92 acres in the heart of farm country just 45 miles outside of Columbus, Ohio. With rolling hills and valleys, we are located in the Glaciated Allegheny Plateau that was carved out by ice thousands of years ago and is currently Ohio Amish Country. Disconnect from the stress of everyday life surrounded by a level of peace and quiet that can be hard to find in modern society.
Camp because I said I would is designed to empower individuals by building resiliency skills to help them face life’s adversities. Our Bereavement Retreats, Youth Camps and Leadership Development Retreats are customized to address each group’s challenges.
Camp Because I Said I Would lost their original event center in a fire in 2024 and Holderbaum’s Painting Inc., along with Weaver Construction, Trinity Painting and Sherwin Williams have been able to help them reconstruct their space so they can continue their mission to serve those who have been affected by loss. Holderbaum’s Painting Inc. provided the volunteer labor and Sherwin Williams donated the paint needed to complete the project.

Smiley R Ranch-Hilliard, Ohio

Dream it.
Smiley R Ranch is a therapeutic horse ranch located in Hillard, Ohio that caters to children who have experienced trauma, have challenging behaviors and who are in foster care. The Hedman-Anglin family runs the ranch and is carrying out the mission of their grandfather who knew the power of caring for animals, specifically horses, and the positive impact it can have on children.

Paint it.
Smiley R Ranch reached out to Holderbaum’s Painting Inc. to request a quote for painting their old barn. After learning about their mission as a non-profit farm and the impact they have had on their community, we decided to provide the painting services free of charge. Together with our partner, Sherwin Williams Paint, we were able to come together and paint the barn at no cost to the farm. Even the horse trainers and family members helped!
